Our Mission

Our mission is simple and 3-fold:

To know God our Father

“God is Love” 1 John 4:16

To Become Like Jesus Christ, His Son

“For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters” Romans 8:29

To Invite Others to be Part of His Family

“For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation” 2 Corinthians 5:19

Vision

The word RENAISSANCE is to do with rebirth, renewal and revival and comes from the period of great revival that occurred in Europe in the 14th to 17th centuries, which brought about a transition and change from the middle ages to the modern world.

Whilst the revival in Europe was specifically to do with art, literature and learning, the word renaissance has come to mean a revival in general.
In OUR context, we are talking about a revival, a renewal, a reawakening, a returning back to God and the things of God.

We believe that as we rediscover God's original purpose for our lives through Jesus Christ, it will lead to a renaissance that will have a lasting impact on our world. We invite you to join us and be part of the movement!

Family Values

How we conduct ourselves, especially towards one another. The attitudes and behaviours which underpin, support and help us to achieve our vision and mission.

UNITY: we are better together, stronger together.

LOVE & HONOUR: is the way by which we become our best self.

HUMILITY & SERVANTHOOD: serving one another with humility.

ENCOURAGEMENT: seek to encourage and build each other up

The Story So Far

In 2017, Remi & Pearl Anekwe and a small team relocated from different Churches around Nottingham to launch Renaissance Church. We began with a small group of people and started meeting together on Sundays with our first meeting on 2nd July 2017 to worship, pray and open the Bible. As numbers grew, the Church officially launched on Sunday 29th October 2017.

We met in a variety of venues in the City Centre, meeting first in the Belgrave Rooms, the Masonic venue in Nottingham as felt led by the Spirit of God before moving into our present home in the Carlton area of Nottingham. We believe the East side of the city is key to God moving in the city of Nottingham. The Church is strategically located on a hill and we believe that this is a prophetic statement of what we are called to be: a light on a hill for the local community reaching far into the city.

Going into covid and coming out, we believe God has said to us:

  • I am doing a new thing (Isaiah 43:18)

  • It is not business as usual (Luke 7:1-10)

  • It requires a new level of faith (Luke 7:1-10)

We Believe

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Creator of all things. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and perfect life, died on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins and offers us new life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe in being baptised in water by full immersion and in being filled with the power and gifts of the Holy Spirit in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God wants for us.

We believe in the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’.

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively.

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.
